Steinbeck's masterpiece story of the Trask and Hamilton families. A brilliant portrait of the human soul; it rattled mine.

Flipped looks fun! I added it to my Goodreads list. And I have some long term goals to read classics like Alice in Wonderland and the Wizard of Oz. I need to force myself to stop picking up current stuff all the time and look to the past a little bit :)

ReplyDeleteI haven't read 3 or 4, and they both look great. I loved all of the others, except for 1. Steinbeck's writing was brilliant. I just didn't like it.

You know Myrna, I did not care for Steibeck's other stuff, The Grapes of Wrath particularly. (The ending just ruined it for me.) But I'm glad I read East of Eden. I guess you win some, lose some!

Nice list. There's a few I haven't read yet. I just finished Neil Gaimen's "The Gaveyard Book". I was surprised by how much I LOVED it. Now, I'm off to finish The Hunger Games....I can't seem to put it down long enough to cook, clean, get dressed in the morning (you get the picture) :P Happy New Year to you too, and I just can't wait read your first book!
